So much of the work for better elections and better government will start, not
end, this Election Day. Donate Today! Dear John,

ANew York Times / Siena College pollfinds that 76 percent of voters believe
American democracy is currently under threat. 62 percent of respondents believe
the political incentives in the country are mostly working to benefit
politicians and elites, rather than the common good.

This Election Day, voters in four states and three cities will have the chance
to improve their elections by adoptingranked choice voting(RCV). Any of the four
states considering RCV – Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, or Oregon – would become the
most populous state with the reform.

Speaking to Axios, FairVote CEO Meredith Sumpter noted "it is no surprise that
this push for reform is coming at a time when the vast majority of Americans
don't believe thatdemocracy is workingfor them.”

“Frustrations [with government] have left 58 percent of voters believing that
the nation’s financial and political systems need major changes or a complete
overhaul.”– New York Timesarticle

Would you considera donation to FairVotetoday? A donation enables our research
and advocacy work to fuel RCV across the nation, moving us toward an America
where voting means ranking.$25, 50, or $100will go a long way toward improving
our politics and making government work for all of us, because much of the work
for better elections and better government will start, not end, this Election
Day.

Onward to Tuesday!

Sincerely,

Marissa Miller
Director of Development
