While everyone has in some way or another been impacted by COVID-19, we are witnessing undeniable racial disparity during this pandemic.

Coronavirus is killing Black Americans at five times the rate as everyone else. Five times.

In Mississippi, no one is wondering why this disparity exists. For generations, Mississippi leaders have overlooked and pushed down 40% of our population — in education, voting rights, health care, and more.

And what did Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith say as the pandemic was first spreading across the state, making people sick, and disrupting the food supply chain?

She said, “We're going to be fine.”

Now, our opponent is supporting the president’s efforts to reopen the country as quickly as possible before it’s truly safe for our communities.

If we listen to Hyde-Smith, everything will not be fine, especially for Black Americans who are disproportionately hurt by this virus. But that’s just the same old Cindy Hyde-Smith.

It's time for a leader in the U.S. Senate who listens to, cares about, and fights for everyone. If you agree, help replace Hyde-Smith with Mike Espy this November by pitching in $5 or more now:

With lives on the line, we simply can’t afford someone like Hyde-Smith in the Senate any longer.
