CELEBRATING 32 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE

This week, we celebrated Marine Safety Lieutenant Lonnie Booker Stephens' 32 years of outstanding service for the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department/Lifeguard Services Division. As the first Black Lifeguard Sergeant and Lieutenant, his leadership and spirit leave behind an enduring impact on colleagues and our communities. We thank him for his dedication, mentorship, and commitment to diversity. Congratulations and we wish you the best on your well-deserved retirement.

MEET THE FLEET AT 32ND STREET

Thanks to Captain Heely, Commander Mann, and the Naval Base San Diego team, Team LaCava had the opportunity to tour the base and the USS Kingsville. We were inspired by seeing our service members in action, the Navy’s innovation, and the base's operations. The best part is…you can too! This Saturday, November 2nd, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, head to Naval Base San Diego for “Meet the Fleet at 32nd Street.” This community event for all ages will have exclusive ship tours, activities, live music from the CNRSW Navy Band, and much more.

NORTHERN D1 COFFEE CATCH-UP

Java with LaCava is back on November 7th! ☕ I want to hear what is on our Northern D1 residents’ minds, meet me for a coffee catch-up at Dot Café from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon. Just like my tabling at local farmers’ markets, this is an informal opportunity to spend a few minutes one-on-one.
