This week the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported that Governor Josh Green ranks in the top 10 among all of America’s governors in approval ratings according to Morning Consult, an independent pollster that conducts political polling.

The most recent poll ranks Governor Green sixth overall in the country, with 62% approval among Hawaii voters.

In its “Fiscal Policy Report Card on America’s Governors 2024,” the Cato Institute recently ranked Governor Green as tied for seventh among the nation's governors, with a 63% ranking — the only Democrat among the top nine governors ranked.

According to the Cato Institute, “Governor Green’s administration vetoed $500 million in excess appropriations this year and $1 billion last year. He enacted the largest tax decrease in state history… Overall, Green’s governance has focused on maintaining fiscal balance without significant tax increases or excessive spending.”

Since taking office, Josh has signed new laws strengthening gun safety, protecting women’s reproductive healthcare rights, and making government more transparent and accountable.

In addition to the largest income tax cut for Hawaii families in the state's history, and delivered the most significant housing regulatory and zoning reform in over 40 years.
