Tell Netflix to stop erasing Palestinian Voices

Dear John,

Horrific events in Gaza have been met with even more of you engaged in inspiring and courageous actions across the country. This week, we witnessed disruptions of VP Kamala Harris, calling out of Senators in their home districts, Freeway banner hangs, and Pop Ups for Palestine. Over 25,000 people have signed petitions to hold Netflix and Trader Joe’s accountable for normalizing Israel’s occupation of Palestine. Watching the elevation of a genocide to unprecendented proportions can only be met with more visual and strategic engagement locally. Thank you for all you are doing!

Many of you have already called out Netflix for erasing Palestinian stories from their website. We delivered those signatures to the Co-CEO Ted Sarandos at his home in Los Angeles on Tuesday, and will deliver even more to their Los Gatos office today. We will continue to deliver them until we see more Palestinian stories available on Netflix. Sign here if you haven’t, and if you have, follow that up with a phone call with these talking points.

We have also been visiting, delivering petitions, and calling Trader Joe's because they continue to stock products from Israel on their shelves. Trader Joe's is known for its values but selling products from a country that's committing genocide; starving, murdering, and bombing Palestinians is not okay. Add your name to our Trader Joe's petition, and call their office using this script, or take action at a Trader Joe’s near youShare our video and encourage your friends to join in on the action! We are here to help, reach out to [email protected].

Israel has passed two bills aimed at banning UNRWA and cutting off its ability to work in Gaza. With no alternative humanitarian agency in the region, Israel knows this will be catastrophic for the Palestinians it has besieged. “Failing to push back against attempts to intimidate and undermine the United Nations in the occupied Palestinian territory will eventually compromise humanitarian and human rights work worldwide,” says UNRWA spokesperson Jonathan Fowler. This is why, we ask you to be in the streets with your kids tonight to raise awareness through Trick or Treat for UNRWA – you can also help by donating here. Follow our step-by-step guide to make a tangible difference in the lives of Palestinian children, and teach valuable lessons of empathy and personal responsibility to your children.

This weekend we bring our message to the Women’s March that feminists stand with Palestine and we will not be silent during a genocide. Check here to see events happening near you.

As the election frenzy comes to an end with the people of Palestine losing no matter which candidate wins, you can join us on Zoom on election night, as no one should be alone then. Nothing changes for us; we will continue to be in the streets, in the halls of Congress, disrupting business as usual wherever we can. The CODEPINK team is here to support your engagement.
