Hi John,

We're only two months into the new school year, but we’re already seeing the incredible impact that LGBTQ+ students are making across the country, thanks to the support of people like you. Through our 50 States. 50 Grants. 5000 Voices initiative, young leaders are taking bold steps to change their schools and communities for the better, making safe, inclusive spaces where they and their peers can thrive.

In Connecticut, our grant recipients were named “Great Kids” of the week by CBS Hartford [[link removed]] for their project, which will create a care closet with gender-affirming clothing, fully stock a rainbow library, and send students to leadership conferences.

In Idaho, students are pushing back [[link removed]] against harmful legislation by creating an LGBTQ+ safe space in their school library, complete with a book lending program.

And in Colorado? They’re working with teachers on sensitivity training and planning an unforgettable queer prom!

“Our town is small, and we don’t really have as much access as other schools do, so this grant is going to help us expand our knowledge and give us access to experience and learn things things that we wouldn’t ordinarily have,” explained Cat Raydenbow, a junior at Explorations Charter School in Winstead, Connecticut.

And our impact goes well beyond our student-led school grants effort. Just last week, we hosted 10 LGBTQ+ youth from around the country at our offices in Los Angeles for our 2024-2025 Youth Voices annual summit. In addition to getting to spend quality time with their peers, these powerful young leaders of tomorrow gathered to discuss issues facing LGBTQ+ youth and learned critical skills — like how to advocate for themselves and their peers and how to create lasting change for LGBTQ+ youth in their communities.

These incredible young people are making big moves, stepping up, and speaking out like never before. With your support [[link removed]], they could do even more.

What do you say? Can we count on you to help us support [[link removed]] this next generation of LGBTQ+ leaders.
