Meanwhile, less than two percent of Representative Eliot Engel's fundraising comes from small-dollar donors. He continues to cash in big checks from billionaires like Dan Loeb, a man who's spent millions to back Republicans in the New York State Senate.

Dan Loeb's political spending is often focused on advancing private charter schools and against public school lobbying.

He also has a record of making racist comments towards people of color. Once, he critiqued the highest-ranking Black woman elected official in New York State by saying she did more to harm to people of color than members of the Ku Klux Klan.

Progressive organizations like the Jewish Vote and the New York Working Families Party have called for Rep. Engel to return this donation, but he hasn't even acknowledged the statement so far.

With this inaction, Rep. Engel is sending the message that his best interests aren't with the people of NY-16, but with whoever sends him big checks. But we can't let another two years slip by with a representative who is afraid to take bold, progressive action for working-class families.
