Dear John,
It seems every Friday during the COVID-19 crisis is turning out to be a “Good Friday” at First Liberty...and for religious freedom across the country.
Just as we led the fight in scoring the key national victory in Louisville, KY during Phase 1 to protect drive-in worship services, we just scored our first two victories during Phase 2—in Kentucky and Washington state—to help protect churches who are now looking to re-open safely while following current CDC guidelines.
But in Illinois, Gov. J.B. Pritzker shows us the fight that’s still ahead of us, by refusing to let churches re-open “until there’s a vaccine”...whenever that may be!
What we’re witnessing right now is not only historic, it’s also unprecedented: government’s unquenchable thirst for power and deep desire to “criminalize” religious activities and gatherings of any kind.
Watch my video for more chilling details and insights on these major breaking cases, plus hear the latest news on the judicial front concerning the nomination of Judge Justin Walker (the judge in our Louisville case) to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia:
Right now, we cannot allow government to use this “opportunity” to reduce our constitutional freedoms. The “new normal” must never result in the taking away of our First Amendment freedoms.
As long as we continue to stand strong together, that will never happen on our watch. Thank you for being a part of the First Liberty family.
Gratefully, Kelly
