U.S. Representative from Iowa Steve King has no place in Congress, John. That's been painfully obvious for a long, long time.
Still, he broke new ground yesterday when he went on the record to defend rape and incest.
"U.S. Rep. Steve King: If not for rape and incest, 'would there be any population left?'" --Des Moines Register, August 14, 2019
That's not a quote taken out of context, though as soon as someone explains to him that he needs to express some degree of remorse for saying it, I'm sure King will claim it was.
These are comments that would get anyone else fired, John, and for good reason. They're despicable.
Saying this sort of horrific garbage isn't an anomaly for King. He's earned a national reputation for his shameless - even boastful - ignorance and racism.
Fortunately, J.D. Scholten is once again running to unseat him.
It's (way, way, way) past time to fire Steve King. Please chip in now to fuel the fight to elect J.D. and get King out of Congress for good.

J.D. is an Iowa native, a former pro baseball player, and a hardworking, caring lawyer who's spent his career fighting for working families, refugees, and small businesses. He's whip-smart, quick-witted, and deeply principled.
In short, he's everything we need more of in Congress, and everything Steve King isn't.
In 2018, J.D. lost by just three percent. On one hand, that's a great sign that Iowans are ready to give Steve King the boot.
On the other hand, big-dollar Republican funders won't be caught off-guard this time. They'll be working overtime to make sure they can keep Steve King in power and spewing hate on taxpayer dollars.
That's why I'm asking out movement to step up and let J.D. know we've got his back.
Please chip in now to support J.D.'s campaign, and give Iowans the bold, progressive leadership they deserve.
