SCOTUS reinstates Virginia’s voter purge program
* With less than a week until Election Day, the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated ([link removed]) Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin's (R) voter purge program that removed several U.S. citizens from the rolls. Lower courts blocked ([link removed]) the program for violating federal law by removing voters too close to the election.
* According to the order, the three liberal justices — Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson — opposed ([link removed]) the decision.

Pennsylvania voting cases in full swing
* In a win for voters, a Pennsylvania court ruled ([link removed]) that Philadelphia must count mail-in ballots missing a correct handwritten date from its September special election. The state Supreme Court recently declined ([link removed]) to weigh in on the date issue before the November general election.
* Pennsylvania courts extended ([link removed]) deadlines for early in-person mail voting in Bucks and Lehigh counties following lawsuits from the Trump campaign and county election officials, respectively.
* A right-wing group filed ([link removed]) a lawsuit to block up to 277,000 Pennsylvanians — who the group alleges may be ineligible to vote — from casting a ballot in the November election.
* A Pennsylvania court permitted ([link removed]) Montgomery County to continue its mobile voter services van – which travels across the county for voters to return and fix issues with their mail-in ballots – given the county provides 24-hour notice of the van’s schedule.
* The Pennsylvania Democratic Party filed ([link removed]) a lawsuit alleging up to 20,000 voters in Erie County still have not received their requested mail-in ballots. Democrats asked the court to take measures to ensure these voters can still cast ballots.

Courts deliver wins for North Carolina, Ohio and Wisconsin voters
* A North Carolina appeals court denied ([link removed]) the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) request to block U.S. citizens born and living overseas from voting in the Tar Heel State.
* A Wisconsin court dismissed ([link removed]) a lawsuit from three voters seeking to require the state to investigate nearly 150,000 voter registrations for alleged address irregularities.
* The Ohio Supreme Court ruled Attorney General David Yost (R) unlawfully rejected ([link removed]) the proposed Ohio Voters Bill of Rights amendment. Yost's rejections prevented the measure from being placed on the November ballot.

West Virginia state Senate candidate mistakenly left off ballot
* Mingo County, West Virginia mistakenly left ([link removed]) a Democratic candidate for state Senate off the ballot due to "human error" and "miscommunication." Nearly 700 people who voted in person on faulty ballots won't be able to cast new ones.

When we fight, we win
* Over the last three years, litigation has been a critical tool in fighting against voter suppression and election subversion. As we head into a high-stakes election, Marc reminds us not to listen to the cynics because when we fight, we win. Read his newest piece here ([link removed]) . ([link removed])
