| | Domestic Violence Awareness Training Session
| | Last Thursday, members of my staff attended a training hosted by Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Janine Darby on domestic violence awareness. Laurel House's Director of Community Outreach Courtney Marengo, Lower Providence Police Chief Mike Jackson, and Montgomery County Prothonotary Noah Marlier presented statistics, barriers to safety, legal protections, documented cases, and, most importantly, how to support and empower victims of domestic violence. These free community education sessions help me and my staff better understand the challenges in our communities and inform my policy decisions.
If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, there is free help available to you. Contact Laurel House's hotline at 1-800-642-3150 any time of day or night.
