"I have to get it done before the election, because I don’t know what’s going to happen after the election."

That's what one of my patients told me earlier this month when she came in to get her IUD replaced. She was nervous about the pain (if men could get IUDs, it'd be standard to get anesthesia before the procedure). But when I suggested we reschedule for a later time when she could get medication to help with her anxiety, she refused to wait.

That's the impact of Trump's abortion bans and MAGA's new threats to go after birth control.

Women are making health care decisions not based on what's best for them physically and emotionally, but out of fear that their personal health care decisions will get them thrown in jail. As their doctor, it makes me furious.

It's why I threw my stethoscope in the ring to represent the people of Northeast Wisconsin.

The only OB/GYNs in Congress right now are 2 anti-choice Republican men — there's never been a woman. It's so clear how desperately needed that perspective is.
