Hello Friend,

Fall is in the air and Halloween is near. It’s an exciting time for families because there’s something for everyone – movie marathons, costume parties, and lots of candy. No matter how you celebrate, remember to always be mindful that kids are watching and be sure to model responsible behaviors.

Please consider these tips to have a safe and responsible Halloween:

On Halloween night, the roads will be filled with ghosts and ghoulson the hunt for candy. And leading up to the big day, there may be other events in the community that have more pedestrians than normal.Make sure to stay alert, obey the speed limitsand never drive drunk or impaired.

Help them be prepared to make smart choices. Discuss boundaries, crossing the road safely, candy limits, and saying “NO” to peer pressure to drink underage. If you have teens who drive, discuss safe driving practices. <[link removed]>

If you are 21+ and plan to celebrate with alcohol, make sure to eat, drink plenty of water and no-alcohol beverages. Plan aheadfor a safe ride home and use our Virtual Bar app <[link removed]>before you head out to see how alcohol will affect your BAC. Respect the decision of others if they choose not to drink.

If you are hosting <[link removed]>, provide plenty of food and water, and remember to include a zero-proof cocktail for those who choose not to drink.Add responsibility language to your invitation, like encouraging designated drivers, ride share, or public transportation. And never serve or supply alcohol to anyone under the legal drinking age.
