John, the Supreme Court has just issued a shameful ruling – allowing Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s last-minute purge of over 1,600 voters from the rolls. [1]
This is a page out of the same tired election denial playbook that led to January 6th: when politicians fear losing, they resort to underhanded tactics like spreading lies and kicking eligible Americans off the voter rolls.
I want you to know: Common Cause is ready to fight back. We’ve prepared our nationwide, nonpartisan network of pro-voter volunteers for moments exactly like this, and together, we have the power to REJECT these last-minute dirty tricks.
That’s because We The People – not anti-voter politicians, and not the courts – will decide this election. So, we’re standing firm to demand that every vote is counted, that every voice is heard, and that the will of the people decides the election.
How? By mobilizing thousands of ordinary Americans who’ve volunteered their time to serve as friendly, pro-voter faces at the polls.
- All year, we’ve been recruiting people (you might even be one of them) who want to take action to protect voters, then training them in state-by-state voting laws.
- Then, we connect them with our nationwide network of legal experts and the 866-OUR-VOTE hotline, so when we identify a problem, we can litigate if necessary.
- Now, our analytics team has identified precisely where voters are at greatest risk – so we can make sure there’s someone there to speak up for them.
So, as I write you, our Election Protection partners in Virginia are working to ensure any eligible voter affected by these purges will be able to cast their ballot.
That’s an impact you can measure – voters who, were it not for these hard-working volunteers, will lose their rights to this shameful scheme.
And here’s the good news: Virginia is a same-day registration state, which means the eligible voters caught up in this politically motivated purge will still have recourse if they’re properly informed of their rights. [2]
But sadly, this isn’t the first (and won’t be the last) attempt by anti-voter politicians to suppress our voices. That’s why I’m so glad this team is on the case.
Here’s where you come in: It costs Common Cause about $50 per volunteer to get this done – and anti-voter attacks like this are motivating more volunteers to sign up each and every day. Can you make sure we have the resources we need to put them all to work?
I certainly hope you will – please sponsor an Election Protection volunteer for $50 (or whatever you can spare) and help protect EVERY voter’s most fundamental right >>

The stakes are too high to sit on the sidelines, John. This won’t be easy, but I hope we can all agree that it is nothing less than a necessity if we want to leave a democracy for the next generation.
