Hear from the activists who joined our online rally

Hello friend,

Earlier this month, five inspirational debt activists shared their experience of campaigning for debt justice at our online rally – Resisting the global debt crisis.

We heard from those at the forefront of protests that have created ripples around the world.

This included how demonstrations against unjust debt rocked Sri Lanka and how Kenyan activists forced a major government U-turn.

Right now, we’re in the worst global debt crisis in thirty years, with millions of people around the world being denied justice. It felt incredibly moving to hear from those directly impacted – about how the crisis has impacted their lives, and how they are fighting back.

As Zambian activist, Precious, so passionately explained at the rally:


** “This is the opportunity to say how we are being affected – I need to speak out, I need my voice to be heard. We are calling global north countries to stand with us, to fight with us, to demand debt cancellation, to demand debt justice.”

Together, we can stand in solidarity with activists like Precious and help win justice for millions of people living in countries in crisis.
