Stop the Bleed Coalition Launches the New STOP THE BLEED® Training Management System (TMS) Worldwide

Stop The Bleed Coalition | October 28, 2024

The Stop the Bleed Coalition is proud to announce the public release of the new STOP THE BLEED® Training Management System (TMS), designed to support Licensed STOP THE BLEED® instructors by making it easy to administer and manage their STOP THE BLEED® classes. Instructors can now manage all aspects of their classes from their laptop, desktop or phone – from wherever they are.
Training is at the heart of the STOP THE BLEED® campaign and many of the tools and resources the Coalition have developed are designed to support this primary mission, including the TMS, which dramatically simplifies and enhances the way STOP THE BLEED® instructors manage their courses and track student progress. Previously, instructors had to rely on manual scheduling, attendance tracking, and reporting processes, which could be time-consuming and prone to errors. With the TMS, these tasks are automated, allowing instructors to focus on teaching life-saving skills rather than administrative work.
The system also boosts accessibility by offering easy online signups for students, which helps drive participation and ensures that more people are trained in emergency bleeding control. By providing a centralized platform that not only schedules and manages classes but also automatically generates quarterly reports, the TMS helps instructors meet compliance requirements without extra effort.
The ease and efficiency of the system means that more classes can be held and discovered by community members, more students can be reached, and ultimately, more lives can be saved. The TMS is poised to significantly increase the capacity for STOP THE BLEED® training, both in the U.S. and internationally, making it a powerful tool in advancing public safety and preparedness.

Key Features of the Training Management System (TMS):
* Easy Class Setup: Instructors can quickly register as users, create STOP THE BLEED® classes, and schedule training sessions with a few simple clicks.
* Simplifies Class Management: Managing courses is now easier than ever. Instructors can handle everything from sending invitations to communicating with participants, all through one streamlined platform.
* Online Student Signups: Students can find, register for, and sign up for classes online with ease, simplifying the process of joining a STOP THE BLEED® course.
* Takes Attendance: Keep track of who attends your classes with an automated attendance feature, eliminating the need for manual record-keeping.
* Tracks Your Training Activity: Instructors can monitor their teaching activity, view class completion rates, and access detailed information about the courses they’ve conducted.
* Quarterly Report Filed Automatically: The TMS automatically generates and files quarterly reports on training activity, ensuring instructors stay up to date with their documentation requirements.
* Free Access: Available at no cost to all licensed STOP THE BLEED® instructors, organizations, and students.

With the increasing need for preparedness in public spaces, workplaces, and schools, the launch of this Training Management System comes at a pivotal time. By simplifying course management, the Stop the Bleed Coalition hopes to significantly increase the number of trained individuals who can respond effectively during emergencies.

STOP THE BLEED® Class in Rice to Teach People Life Saving Skills

WJON News Paul Habstritt | October 23, 2024

STOP THE BLEED® Instructor Kevin Peine helped the Rice community learn valuable life-saving skills at a class on Saturday in Rice. STOP THE BLEED® will teaches about different types of life-bleeding injuries, and skills on how to treat them like direct pressure, wound packing, and how to apply a tourniquet.

Peine says knowing how to deal with life-bleeding injuries is a skill everyone should have: "STOP THE BLEED® has been described as the CPR of trauma and I fully agree with that, this is immediate help that you are providing a person. CPR is the same way, bystander interventions so I'm also a CPR instructor and I understand the parallels between STOP THE BLEED® and Bystander CPR, when you can get the help early the chances of that person surviving whatever incident it is increases."
A second STOP THE BLEED® class will be taking place from 10:30 a.m. to Noon at the Rice City Hall on November 23rd.

New York Post Caitlin McCormack | October 22, 2024

A Missouri television reporter was injured by a stray bullet fragment at a shooting range campaign event for Democratic US Senate candidate Lucas Kunce on Tuesday afternoon.

The injured reporter, KSHB-TV’s Ryan Gamboa, suddenly began to bleed from his arm after being grazed by a fragment that bounced off of a shooting target.

Kunce, a veteran who served 13 years in the Marines, used his belt to help stop the bleeding and wrapped gauze around the injury. The gauze was then swapped out for medical tape, and Gamboa was later checked out at a nearby hospital as a precaution, according to KSHB 41.
