Atlantic Hurricane Helene brought unimaginable loss of life and catastrophic destruction to communities in the Appalachia region of the US – destruction that will take years to recover from. Hurricane Milton devastated Florida's Treasure Coast. Storm Boris in Central Europe brought significant flooding and devastation. And earlier in the year, extreme heat killed hundreds with millions more sweltering worldwide.

This is the reality of the climate crisis. As global temperatures rise, extreme weather becomes more frequent, more intense, and even more deadly.
