Dear Friend,

The COVID-19 pandemic has seen our communities unite to support each other like never before. From organizing mutual aid efforts, providing cash and food assistance, and fighting for the policies our communities have always needed (and now need more urgently than ever), the CPD network of affiliates are stepping up, even as many of our communities are hit hardest by this crisis.

This is why, four weeks ago, the Center for Popular Democracy and CPD Action launched the Community Solidarity Fund to support grassroots organizations who are caring for their communities during this pandemic. So when we got word that Rihanna’s philanthropic organization, the Clara Lionel Foundation1, wanted to pitch in we were beyond excited!

They are joining 50,000 grassroots donors, like you, who have given generously to direct much-needed resources to communities on the frontlines of the COVID-19 crisis and response. But the need still far outstrips available resources and so we can’t stop now.

Will you chip in $10 to support immigrants, essential workers, and grassroots organizations on the frontlines of the COVID-19 response?

COUNT ME IN

From Seattle to New York City, Detroit, Flint, New Orleans, Los Angeles and New Jersey — our Community Solidarity Fund has made almost 20 rapid response grants to organizations doing incredible work in some of the hardest hit cities, and we’re just getting started.

In solidarity,

Jennifer Epps-Addison
Network President & Co-Executive Director, CPD
