Dear Friend,
Last week, I had the honor of presenting three of the fourteen Community Project Funding awards I secured for South Jersey. Community Project Funding invests in our communities and supports economic development, job creation, and critical projects that improve the quality of life. Keep reading below to learn more about this federal funding.
Secured Nearly $700,000 to Upgrade Washington Township’s Stormwater Infrastructure

Rep. Norcross presents $696,000 in Community Project Funding to upgrade stormwater infrastructure in Washington Township |
This week, I presented $696,000 in Community Project Funding to upgrade Washington Township's stormwater infrastructure and prevent flooding in Ward Lake and Spring Lake. With storms across the nation getting worse, we can never be too prepared. The existing stormwater outlets and natural runoff at Spring Lake have caused substantial erosion and siltation build-up over the last few decades. We’ve got to rebuild South Jersey's infrastructure to ensure our residents are safe.
Secured $850,000 to Upgrade the Pedestrian and Bike Path in Merchantville

Rep. Norcross presents $850,000 in Community Project Funding to Merchantville |
In Merchantville, I secured $850,000 to upgrade the borough's pedestrian and bike path, enhancing safe recreational opportunities for our neighbors. The upgrades will include new lighting, resurfacing, crosswalks, and ADA ramps for seniors to use at the senior housing center nearby. By updating this path we can create a safer walkway for members of our community and connect more Camden County residents to new jobs.
Secured $500,000 for the New Haddonfield Police Department Headquarters
|
Rep. Norcross breaks ground on the new Haddonfield Police Department headquarters |
For decades, the Haddonfield Police Department has been housed in the windowless basement of a 100-year-old building. However, this year, I was proud to secure $500,000 in Community Project Funding for Haddonfield to build a new police headquarters. Our officers will no longer have to deal with issues of flooding or mold and can focus on keeping our community safe. The public safety of South Jersey residents will always be a top priority of mine in Congress, and I’m glad this new funding will create a better workspace for our officers.
