Dear Supporter,
We just
released the public opinion survey we did through through the Angus Reid Forum and it showed
two out of three Canadians want MPs to reduce their own salaries.
We’ve already called on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to show leadership like his counterparts in New Zealand, India and Japan and
take an immediate pay cut. So far, he hasn’t budged.
The Conservatives are in the middle of a leadership race. Those candidates are hoping to become Canada’s next prime minister. Are they going to be any different than Trudeau and take a pay cut?
Please take a minute to email Conservative leadership candidates to ask whether they’re committed to cutting MP salaries? We’ve got their email addresses here:
Leslyn Lewis:

Peter MacKay:

Erin O’Toole:

If you want to be prime minister, you need to be ready to lead. Leaders around the world are cutting their salaries, but Trudeau isn’t. If Conservatives candidates want to be prime minister, they need to prove they can lead by committing to cut MP salaries.
The government is going to have to get the deficit under control. Politicians need to tighten their belts so they’ll have the moral authority to get spending under control. But they’ll only do it if taxpayers make them do it.
Thank you for taking a stand and please keep safe during this crisis!
Sincerely,
- Aaron, Shannon, Todd and the rest of the CTF team.
PS: We were able to survey the Angus Reid Forum about MP pay because supporters sent donations to cover the cost and we’re grateful to them. In fact, we grateful to all of our donors because we don’t take a dime from governments. If you’re able, please chip in today:

PPS: Ever wonder what it would be like for an MP to suggest a pay cut? Former MP Michelle Simson did it. And she tells us all about it on the
