John, I’m about to ask you to make a matched donation toward our final $50,000 end-of-month goal before the election – but first, let me tell you why the work we’re doing is so important.

As Run for Something’s Executive Director, I’ve seen firsthand the remarkable difference young progressives can make for the people they serve – especially at the state level. And right now, we’re working around the clock to recruit and elect these young, progressive leaders to state school boards and legislatures where they can make the greatest impact.

But our ability to transform state governments for the better hinges on your grassroots support. So I have to ask: Will you rush a donation now and have it matched by a generous group of donors to support our recruitment efforts?

Here’s a quick glimpse at what we’re doing to bolster progressive leadership at the state level:

• Clerk Work: We’re electing pro-democracy leaders for local election administrator roles, ensuring positions that could impact state elections are being held by people with voters’ best interests in mind.
• Our 50 State School Board Strategy: By electing progressives to school boards nationwide, we’re driving folks to the polls AND shaping our education system well after Election Day has come and gone.
•  Alumni Support: We’re continuing to support our alumni as they move on to higher positions in government at the state level and beyond so that they can continue to make a difference for our democracy. 

These critical programs are just a taste of what we’re working on beyond the 2024 election – because this fight isn’t just about making sure far-right Republicans and Donald Trump don’t win. It’s about building a progressive stronghold so people like him never rise to the top again.
