For the upcoming 2025 observance, NIDA is featuring new content focused on improving awareness and prevention of youth substance use and overdose deaths to help schools and communities across the country stay safe.

Now’s your chance to get involved and make a positive impact. Learn how to recognize and respond to an overdose and help empower youth to make informed decisions about drugs and their health with NIDA’s latest resource offerings for NDAFW and beyond.

Understanding an Overdose and How to Respond to One

This lesson focuses on recognizing and responding to an overdose. Through the interactive exercises in the lesson, students can demonstrate their awareness of overdose symptoms and how to respond and save a life.

Understanding Polysubstance Use and How to Make Healthy Choices

This lesson helps equip teens with skills to make healthy choices in challenging situations and helps them understand the risks of polysubstance use, or the mixing of two or more substances, through interactive exercises.
