Former Democratic presidential rivals Kamala Harris and Bernie Sanders have joined together to advocate for a solution to the current crisis: give $2,000 to every American who makes under $120,000, in payments made every single month, until the pandemic is long in the country's rearview mirror.

But Mitch McConnell has drawn a strict red line against more aid from Congress. And Republican Senator John Kennedy's response to calls for a second round of relief efforts for the American people?

"Well people in hell want ice water, too."

The Democratic senators are standing strong, with Kamala Harris insisting that the government has not done "nearly enough to meet the needs of this historic crisis," and Bernie Sanders calling it Congress's "responsibility" to the working class.
