Election Day is one week away — we’ve made it to the final stretch of a historic election season.

The Fair Fight team is closely monitoring turnout and polling data, and I’m doing my part to get out the vote for the Democrats up and down the ballot, but still it’s looking too close to call. The presidential election will come down to the voters in our battleground states, including right here in Georgia.

Our votes will make the difference for our futures and our democracy. We saw record-breaking turnout on the first day of early voting, and Georgians continue to cast their ballots in waves ahead of November 5, because we know our rights are at stake — and that Republicans have no issue trying to bend rules to their will.

“Approximately 71,000 Georgians who were registered to vote in 2020, but didn’t cast a ballot in that election, have already voted this year during the first week of early voting. Among these newly-activated voters, Democrats hold an edge.”

But we also know we’re up against roadblocks in the voting process. Republicans have been trying to undermine the system rather than win on merits. We refuse to be silent when they create chaos in the election process. Our elected leaders should protect — not restrict — the freedom to vote.
