Both Colin Allred and Debbie Mucarsel-Powell have run terrific campaigns in Texas and Florida — campaigns that are about centering working people and defending our freedoms.
Rep. Mucarsel-Powell came to the U.S. from South America at a young age with her mom and sisters, fleeing violence and searching for a better life. She worked her way through college and has focused her career on expanding access to health care in Florida. Since being elected to Congress, Debbie has written a bill to expand seniors’ Medicare Advantage coverage, worked across the aisle to provide economic relief to families and small businesses, and secured funding for Everglades restoration.
Rep. Allred is a fourth-generation Texan raised by a single mom. In 2018, Rep. Allred defeated a 22-year Republican incumbent to win his seat in the U.S. House, and he has spent his time in Congress working with both parties to deliver real solutions — lowering prescription drug prices, keeping jobs in Texas, establishing a new veterans medical center, and much more.
While Democrats fight to defend Senate incumbents, part of our strategy to defend our majority also involves flipping states like Texas and Florida. We’ve got to fight and invest in these states so that working people get the representation they deserve in our government. Sending Colin and Debbie to the Senate is within reach — we’ve got to fight hard for this.
Any contribution you can make right now will boost these critical campaigns in the final stretch. If you’re able, split a donation between Colin Allred, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, and our re-election to help hold our Senate majority and elect champions for working people across the country.
Thanks for being a part of this,
Elizabeth
