Hi John,
My name is Natasha Marcus. I’m a current State Senator, mom of two, a former attorney, and the Democratic Nominee for NC Commissioner of Insurance.
My friend Nida said I should reach out to tell you about my race and why it matters. And after, I’m going to ask you to split a donation between my campaign and Nida’s.
But John, if you already know about my race and can spare $27 for the future of North Carolina, you can donate here >>
The NC Commissioner of Insurance has sole authority to set the rates insurance companies can charge us for auto, homeowners and worker’s comp insurance. Our current Insurance Commissioner, “Rate Hike Mike” Causey, is doing whatever it takes to make insurance companies (and their PACs) happy.
Since taking office, he raised our insurance rates 16 times without ever holding a public hearing, while pocketing over a quarter million dollars in campaign donations from insurance industry sources.
Mike Causey also used taxpayer money to give his friends and political cronies high-paying jobs in his department, instead of hiring qualified experts. And he worked to expand a special loophole that allows insurance companies to charge us 250% more than the maximum rate allowed by law!
Rate Hike Mike isn’t on the side of working class North Carolinians, John. His actions are hurting families across the state and it’s time we have a Commissioner of Insurance who will work for us.
This campaign is about who we can trust to be the people’s advocate when insurance companies want to raise our rates and deny our claims. Mike is on the side of insurance companies, but I’m stepping up to work for the people. In these final days, I need to double down on our get-out-the-vote efforts to ensure we can win this race. So I have to ask:
Will you split a donation of $27 between my campaign and Nida’s to help us both turn out voters in droves and win this campaign? >>
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Together we can bring positive change to our state,
Natasha
