So, as we write, the Supreme Court is finally hearing arguments on whether Trump must release his financial records — including his tax returns.
These documents could shed light on whether Trump cheated on his taxes, whom he’s done business with around the world, what foreign powers he has ties to, and whether he’s lied about his business. Seriously, they matter.
To keep these important documents secret, Trump’s legal team has been arguing that he is above the law, and the Supreme Court has done everything Trump has asked.
Historically the Supreme Court has rejected presidents attempting to declare themselves above the law. But this Republican Supreme Court is hijacked and partisan beyond belief.
If it weren’t for the Republicans on the Supreme Court, we would already have Trump’s financial records. Instead, they’re just now hearing these cases — and November’s election is under six months away. Ridiculous.
