Message from Congressman Scott Fitzgerald
Good afternoon, everyone, and happy Tuesday!
Yesterday our nation celebrated National First Responders Day, so I want to take a moment to thank any first responders reading this eNewsletter! Our first responders are a true lifeline in our communities across the nation and their dedication to caring and protecting our communities is incredibly honorable. Make sure to thank a first responder this week!
Last week, I was excited to join my colleagues from the Judiciary Committee at an important field hearing in our home state in downtown Milwaukee. The hearing, which was titled: “The Biden-Harris Border Crisis: Wisconsin Perspectives” allowed us members, and the public, to cut through the noise and hear directly from local experts about the difficulties this crisis has brought upon our nation’s communities.
The local experts testifying included leaders who specialized in education, law enforcement, the legal field, policy, and even a parent who has started a foundation (Love, Logan Foundation) in honor of his son who tragically fell victim to the fentanyl crisis.
It was an important conversation, and I appreciate every single witness for sharing their unique testimony. You can watch my Q&A at the hearing here. I also joined Jay Weber on WISN radio to discuss the border crisis prior to the hearing. Watch here:
To end on a positive note, I was happy to tour Aztalan Bio in Johnson Creek recently. I had a great conversation with the team about the jobs they’re creating in Jefferson County.
That wraps the updates from last week.
Have a great week everyone and thanks for reading along!
-Scott
