Some great news: with seven days until Election Day, Texas voters are turning out in record numbers. And in terms of who is voting, our analysis shows all five of our endorsed Democratic candidates are making enormous gains.

In north Dallas, Democratic House nominee Averie Bishop has a great chance of flipping a Republican-held seat. And in central Dallas, Democratic Representative Mihaela Plesa is in a strong position to defend her seat in a key battleground race.

Desiree Venable in Bastrop and Jennifer Lee in Killeen are both running hard in races where the Republican incumbent won by over 20 points in 2022 — and both Desiree and Jennifer are outperforming prior Democratic candidates by leaps and bounds. Taylor Burge is running a powerful campaign and is in great position to flip a County Commissioner seat in Caldwell County, a fast-growing region just south of Austin.

John, as you know, we can’t take voting for granted. We need to use every means possible to contact voters and remind them what’s at stake.

For our slate, there are multiple key objectives. Averie Bishop can help flip one of three Texas House seats we need to save public education in the 2025 Legislative Session, and we need to keep Mihaela Plesa in her seat as well. Taylor Burge can help flip a conservative Commissioners Court in a fast-growing and increasingly progressive area. And Jennifer Lee and Desiree Venable are expanding the Democratic base in areas north and east of Austin, respectively, proving themselves as emerging leaders in the fight for long-term political change.
