John,

As Congress plans the next stimulus bill, some members, including Michael McCaul, want to give a huge bailout for corporate lobbyists.

This would be a huge mistake.

What message does this send to the American people? Tens of millions for us are unemployed, wondering how we might pay rent or buy food or see a doctor. I can’t believe these “representatives” want to give billions to lobbyists — people whose job is to write political checks and gain influence for wealthy patrons.

The Trump Administration has already exploited the COVID-19 pandemic to give trillions of dollars to big corporations—often with no strings attached—and many billions more in tax breaks for the wealthy. We need to draw a line in the sand — put the people first!

I’ve spent my career in the classroom and the courtroom fighting for the people. Next year in Congress, I will do the same — working for real people, not corporate lobbyists! Help me get there by chipping in right now. [[link removed]]

I’m encouraged that many members of Congress, including strong voices in the Progressive Caucus, are raising alarm bells. This is one of these moments, like the old union song, “Whose side are you on?”

We need to show the American people we will fight for them — and against corrupt business as usual. No bailout of “K Street” lobbyists.

Will you sign our petition and demand we take care of people before corporate interests? [[link removed]]
