Let’s be absolutely clear:

Puerto Ricans are Americans. They have served our country for generations, and we have served beside them. Shoulder to shoulder. They’ve bled for us and with us. They’ve given their best in defense of our nation.

They are owed the same respect and dignity as any of us.

Unless, of course, you’re some MAGA Republican, or some trash comedian at a Nazi-revival rally. Unless you’re Trump.

To the MAGA Right, Puerto Rico is “garbage.” And Trump’s fascist rally at Madison Square Garden should be a reminder to each of us of what a second Trump administration will look like. We never forgot:

After a devastating hurricane, Trump weaponized critical disaster relief. To Trump, the people of Puerto Rico didn’t count. They didn’t matter. And three thousand people died.
