Hey! Happy Early Vote Day!
Across the country, there are a lot of options for how you can vote: By mail, in person, early, on Election Day. Today, we’re showing some love to the early birds, and encouraging you to vote early in person if you can.
Why vote early? Well, one, there will be shorter lines. Plus it gives you time to make sure your vote will count without racing against the clock on Election Day.
Early voting has started in 40+ states and over 44 million people have already voted. (fact check: that’s a lot). And we definitely think you should join them.
Here’s the 4-1-1 on how to vote early:
First, figure out where: Your early voting location may be different from where you normally vote on Election Day, so use our tool to look up your options before you go. If you always go to the same elementary school gym, double check. Your location may have changed this year!
Next step, check your calendar app and confirm when you're free. Then, use our BallotReady tool to set up a text reminder so that you don't forget to vote early! Think of November 5th as your last chance to vote. Note: you should contact your local elections office to confirm date and time as early vote windows can vary!
Ok, now last step/last call for democracy, get your people to vote: Once you’ve made your plan, text THREE friends to remind them to do it too!
Voting early has a lot of benefits. With all the attacks we've seen by the GOP on election administration, it's important that folks get out and vote early where they can to speed up the ballot counting (aka maybe Election Day can be a week and not a month?).
Early voting can also create a sense of momentum and excitement for candidates and helps voters #TrustTheProcess of our democratic systems. Plus, you can get a sense of pride, accomplishment, and a cute little I Voted sticker. What more can you ask for?
Get out, vote early, get your friends to vote early as well. And then maybe….we can save Democracy? LFG.
Thanks for being a voter
