We’ve come so far. This Thursday is our final monthly deadline, but because of the urgency of the situation – Election Day is one week away – I need to ask for your support today.
If you only have a moment,
here is the link to provide a donation to get us across the finish line. But I did want to let you know where things stand with one week to go.
Two things are true. First, we are on track for victory. Second, our opponents are doing everything possible to throw us
off track. Nancy Pelosi herself has just donated to Jessica Morse; and Newsom’s allies are absolutely piling on cash in the final days.
Our
opponent has been condemned for dishonest campaign ads by KCRA, Politifact, the Sacramento Bee, and even a Superior Court judge. But it doesn’t matter; the lies keep coming. They will say or do absolutely anything to defeat us.
That’s why I have to ask for whatever support you can provide to fend of the attacks this final week.
They see what we are doing to restore sanity in California and Washington. They see our movement for the threat that it is to their corrupt hold on power. They see our citizen support as the desperately needed antidote to their destructive policies.
The imperative for our campaign in the final days is simple: We need to get out the vote.
The way we could lose is if Republican voters don’t show up. This could happen for a number of reasons; some, for instance, might think that the presidential race isn’t competitive in California so there isn’t reason to vote.
Our task is to make clear how much is at stake in this election. We are contacting lower-propensity voters through every medium – mail, digital, social media, door-knocking, phone calls, texts, and more – to assure they know what we stand to lose if Newsom’s staff member replaces me in the House.
Your support today, for this final deadline of the race, will help assure we reach these voters.
Sounding that warning is important, but
ultimately, our message is a positive and hopeful one. Voting in this election offers not only the opportunity to defeat Newsom and to keep our movement strong. It is a chance to put our state on a new course.
The passage of Prop. 36, after Newsom tried everything to defeat it – coupled with our reelection to the House after Newsom tried everything to defeat us – will be a watershed moment for California. It will send the pendulum swinging rapidly back towards sanity.
It will mark the beginning of a new era for our state, where we are no longer defined by corrupt and failed politicians like Gavin Newsom, but by the extraordinary potential and dynamism of the California people. I am tremendously excited for the opportunities that lie ahead.
But we cannot look past the hurdle – to be honest, the
risk – of the next week: all of those opportunities could be snuffed out. The light at
the end of the tunnel could be suddenly extinguished. The biggest mistake in campaigns is taking your foot off the gas pedal too soon.
Please help us keep our foot on the accelerator through Election Night.
I will be fighting to get out every last vote this final week, and your support will equip me and our amazing volunteers with the tools do so with maximum effectiveness.
I am so grateful for your support throughout my first term. We have been preparing for November 5 one month at a time – one day at a time – and now the moment of truth has arrived. I am increasingly hopeful that all of our hard work will pay off when the vote totals are revealed one week from
today. But the job is not done.
Help us finish the race strong so Nov. 5 will be a day of celebration.
Thank you!
Kevin
