I am honored to have received the endorsement of the Democratic Party for the United State House of Representatives in Connecticut's Fourth Congressional District.

We are living through a period of tragedy and crisis that has revealed how far we have drifted from the idea that government can serve to keep people safe and to give people a hand up. We have also drifted away from the understanding that we have the obligation to make sure people have access to opportunity, housing, and healthcare. This obligation is at the heart of the American Dream.

To ensure that everyone has the opportunity to live the American Dream, we must elect Democrats at every level of office this year, from the White House, to the Congress, to the Statehouses, and to our local officials. The task we have before us is not just about policy, but rather about restoring key fundamental values that the President repeatedly abandons - those values of integrity, of truthfulness, of dignity, of really understanding that what unites us is truly greater than whatever divides us. These values aren't partisan; they're American, they're deeply held Connecticut values, and we need to reincorporate them in all levels of governance and society.

My pledge to you is that I will work to make sure that we win at every level this November, so that we are able to implement thoughtful policies, and restore those basic American values that make us who we are.
