Friends,

Last week, we asked you to tell us about an inspiring nurse in your life. These remarkable heroes are serving on the frontlines of this crisis, and we owe them our sincerest gratitude. Not just during National Nurses Week, but each and every day they work hard to keep our communities healthy.

Here are a few of your amazing stories:

"Our son Christopher is an R.N. at Bryn Mawr Hospital. He works in the ICU, which puts him on the front lines of this pandemic. He told us that he is glad that he can help to lessen his patient's suffering. He is truly a hero."
- Robert

"In early March, I had a problem that caused me to spend overnight at the UCLA ER. Although all of the nurses were wonderful, one nurse, Kati, was outstanding. She said I reminded her of her mother and she treated me as if I were. She was so warm, kindly efficient, cheerful, attentive, and tender, I shall never forget her. She was everything one would wish a caretaker to be. I hope she has a wonderful life, and wish that she is treated with the same care and even love that she showed to me."
- Sheila

"My Mom, Thelma Helen Logan, is the most inspiring nurse of my life. Her thoughtfulness and practicality has affected my tolerance and discoveries during this challenging time."
- Helen

"My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer at age 52, a little more than a year ago. It was a scary and unsettling time. Rather than identify just one nurse, we want to acknowledge the hard-working nurses at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees, who helped us through some very challenging situations at the time of diagnosis. We are at our most vulnerable when admitted to the hospital in pain and in fear, which happened three times last year. We can honestly say that nurses make the difference between a good day and a rough day. Also a huge shout out to the Infusion Center nurses and staff at Penn Medicine in Cherry Hill. They are amazing, patient, supportive, and caring souls who make chemo and now immunotherapy more tolerable. Our nurses are heroes, and we are so grateful for those who staff Penn and Virtua!"
- Juli

"A nurse, originally from Africa, got me through pneumonia and complications last October. She was certainly my hero in Virtua Mount Holly cardiac."
- Christopher

To these nurses and the nurses currently serving South Jersey and all over the country: we are truly in your debt. Thank you for your continued service!

And if you haven't had a chance to share your story yet, friend, we still want to hear from you. Tell us about an inspiring nurse in your life today >> [link removed]

Thanks,

Team DN
