Dear John,
Since I stepped into the role of Victory Fund’s new Vice President of Development just 40 days ago, I’ve enjoyed getting to know our dynamic staff, Board, and even a few of our dedicated candidates who are poised to represent the LGBTQ+ community in the halls of power – from future state senators to members of the U.S. Congress.
But I still haven’t had the opportunity to meet the most important part of Victory Fund’s ecosystem:
YOU, and the dedicated grassroots supporters like you, who make it possible for us to scale our mission and pave pathways to victory for our candidates.
Public servants like:
- Tammy Baldwin (WI), who is running for reelection in one of the closest Senate races in the country;
- Mondaire Jones, Will Rollins, Julie Johnson, Evan Low, Emily Randall & Sarah McBride, who will add essential representation in the U.S. House;
- Nate Douglas, who is running in a must-win seat in the Florida State House; and
- Lorena Austin, who holds a key seat in the Arizona State House and is one of the few out non-binary elected officials currently serving!
With a little over a week until Election Day, your support is more crucial than ever. Please make a donation TODAY to help these amazing candidates – and so many more – cross the finish line successfully.
As someone who has dedicated most of my life to building multi-million-dollar fundraising campaigns in advocacy and academia, I’ve learned two things to be true:
- There is nothing more important than maintaining your focus on the mission and the people you serve.
- The unwavering commitment of generous philanthropists transforms strategic plans into secured seats, and simple “dreams of better days” into decisive action that creates working progressive possibility models.
During my listening tour, I’ve learned that you’ve never veered from your conviction that the pathway to equality starts with action.
Victory Fund’s programs and candidates are fortunate to have supporters who speak up, dig in, and donate in substantive ways. This ensures that the voices of the most vulnerable—like Black trans women, who face disproportionate violence, and queer kids in our school systems—are represented by leaders who see them.
Who see us.
On November 5th, we must elect a slate of candidates who truly reflect our values and fight for their constituents’ rights, but we cannot do it without you.
At the end of this election cycle, when I see the results begin to roll in, I want to be able to say that I put all my cards on the table and did everything possible to propel our candidates across the finish line.
I’m sure you do, too.
Click [HERE] to make the best transformative gift you can today. With one week left, we can’t afford to hold back.
Y’all, we are a powerful group of people. Let’s not just talk about it; let’s be about it. I truly believe that the light (and resources) that emanate from our community can counter any encroaching darkness.
Email me at [email protected] if you’d like to discuss other ways you can get involved with our work or help strengthen the infrastructure at the Fund or Institute.
Many thanks,
Mel Harris
