The Washington Post reported last week that Republicans are becoming more and more nervous that Democrats could flip the Senate in November.

The Post report adds to a deluge of polls showing Democrats gaining ground or building leads in Senate battleground states like Maine. Now is the time to keep our foot on the gas and make sure we have the infrastructure to win in November.

But defeating Susan Collins isn’t going to be easy, and we can’t afford to take a day off. Donald Trump’s response to the public health and economic crises facing our nation has been chaotic, haphazard, and dangerous. It’s no wonder that voters in Maine and around the country are tired of watching Senators like Susan Collins carry water for him.
