Everyone should have access to opportunities and supports that lead to success in education and life-sustaining careers.

To make this a reality, state and local education leaders need to examine a robust set of indicators to understand the changes necessary to support all students. But leaders can’t address problems they can’t see.

State policymakers are uniquely positioned to enable access to data that can be disaggregated and used to create a full picture of student experiences—beyond academic outcomes—to better understand students’ needs and identify solutions. Our latest resource explores how state leaders must use data to advance education equity, including:
  • Why leaders need access to data to advance equity goals;
  • The promise and feasibility of equity indicators;
  • Lessons learned from leading states and districts; and
  • Why state policymakers should support access to data.
Education leaders need data to support all students. For more information, see our full resource.
