American crime coverage is evolving. Help your newsroom lead the charge.
[link removed]
Now in its fourth year, Transforming Local Crime Reporting Into Public Safety Journalism ([link removed]) has led more than 500 journalists in over 80 newsrooms to evolve their traditional reporting on crimes, safety and criminal justice.
This change management program was pioneered by Poynter and cited by the AP Stylebook ([link removed]) as a major influence in its new chapter on how journalists should cover crime.
Newsroom teams will meet monthly from March through October in rigorous, thoughtful online training sessions designed to guide newsrooms as they transform their coverage, step by step. Best of all, every newsroom’s solution will be unique to the communities they serve.
Apply by Dec. 6 ([link removed]) and your newsroom team will spend just $600 for tuition. The final application deadline is Friday, Jan. 17, with a $1,000 tuition fee.
Read below for more Poynter assistance in helping move your newsroom — and your career — in the direction you want it to grow.
