Hello there John ,
Today is Vote Early Day, so if you need a sign to vote early, consider this your sign as this Friday (Nov 1) is the last day of early voting. Additionally, Election Day is only a week away so we wanted to send some important reminders your way. |
Our staff and their loved ones have already started voting! |
- If you are not registered to vote yet, you can register in person at a polling location on Election Day (Nov 5).
-
You do not need a Utah I.D. in order to register, just 2 forms of identification. You are required to have lived in Utah for at least 30 days prior to the election and must be a U.S. citizen.
-
If you are a convicted felon you can still vote, so long as you are not currently serving a jail or prison sentence. Your voting rights are automatically restored when you are granted parole, sentenced to probation, or successfully complete your term of incarceration. You are eligible to register and vote if you are detained and awaiting trial and have not yet been convicted of a felony.
-
If you are planning to vote by mail, make sure your ballot is postmarked by Nov 4. Ask your local post office to postmark it, especially if you are a rural voter.
- On Election Day, polls open at 7am and close at 8pm MST. If you are in line by the time polls close, stay in line. Even though it is closing time, you are still allowed to vote and they cannot turn you away if you are already in line.
- If you make a mistake on your ballot while voting in person, you can request a new ballot. If you have made a mistake on your mail-in ballot, head to your nearest polling location to vote in person (do not submit the incorrect mail-in ballot).
- If voting machines are down at your polling location, ask for a paper ballot.
-
It’s illegal for someone to intimidate or try to prevent you from voting. You have the right to vote!
- Who you vote for is between you and your ballot. No one else needs to know who you vote for, and voting records are private.

If you are planning to vote on Election Day and suspect that your polling location will be busy, remember to bring some snacks and water, and if you need some entertainment, we’ve got you covered– check out our Election Day playlist! |
If you’ve already voted and want to motivate your community to get out and exercise their right to vote, join us on Election Day for a call-a-thon! We’ll have snacks, drinks, and pizza. RSVP and make sure to bring a laptop, phone, and chargers for both! |
