Every summer the GNPC family grows when seasonal employees join
our retail team.
While we are always sad to see them go, we love to hear their
reflections on the summer.
Check out these blogs by seasonal employees and get a sense of

"Parks Project is so honored to have had the incredible
opportunity to support the Native Plant Nursery in Glacier
National Park, where volunteers spent the day learning firsthand
about the park's vital conservation efforts. From weeding
precious white bark pine saplings to foraging native plants, it
was an unforgettable experience helping preserve such a special
place. Parks Project is so grateful to live out our Leave It
Better™ mission with such inspiring partners in one of the most
beautiful parks in the country."

Glacier Book Club:
George Melendez Wright with Jerry Emory
When twenty-three-year-old George Meléndez Wright arrived in
Yosemite National Park in 1927 to work as a ranger naturalist—the
first Hispanic person to occupy any professional position in the
National Park Service (NPS)—he had already visited every national
park in the western United States. Wright’s new ideas for
conservation set the stage for the modern scientific management
of parks and other public lands.
Tragically, Wright died in a 1936 car accident. George Meléndez
Wright is a celebration of Wright’s unique upbringing, dynamism,
and enduring vision that places him at last in the pantheon of
the great American conservationists.
