NPR: Ballots set on fire in three states as Election Day approaches [[link removed]]
This is what the anti-voting rhetoric from the vote suppressors leads to, John:
Workers scoop burning ballots from a drop box in 2024. [[link removed]]
Yes, those are burning ballots in Washington state's 3rd congressional district , projected to be one of the tightest races in the country. But that's not all -- another drop box in Oregon and a mailbox in Arizona were also set on fire in the last few days in attempts to destroy mail-in ballots.
Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey said it best: " It's heartbreaking. It's a direct attack on democracy ."
We don't know who those ballots were filled out for. We don't know which political party those voters belong to. But we do know these are now hundreds of voices whose votes won't be counted. All because of the vile lies and misinformation spread about mail-in ballots for political gain by sore losers who want to hold onto their power.
Mail-in ballots have been proven safe and secure time and again, John. We must protect their use, inform voters how easy they are to complete, and stop opponents of voting rights from attacking them, both physically and verbally. Pitch in $25 or whatever you can today to defend the use of mail-in ballots across the country, in this election and beyond >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
