COP29 is a critical moment for the climate movement. It's the first time in 15 years that all nations will come together to establish a new global climate finance goal, aiming to replace the $100 billion annual goal initially set in 2009. Today the financial needs of developing countries far outstrip what is currently flowing to them. That must change at COP29.

Simply put, the single-biggest measure of success at COP29 will be whether the world can mobilize more money to invest in a safe and prosperous future. Alongside climate finance, COP29 will serve as an important platform for nations to demonstrate their intention to submit stronger national climate commitments, strengthen adaptation efforts, and show tangible progress on previous pledges.
