Washington state has been on a wolf-killing spree. It's slaughtered more than 30 wolves since 2012, all on behalf of the private, for-profit livestock industry.

The state has wiped out entire packs: the Old Profanity Territory pack in August 2019, the Sherman pack in 2017 and the Profanity Peak pack in 2016.

We've had enough of their trigger-happy, shoot-first mentality, so we just took action to save wolves there.

Another pack has emerged in the same area where the Old Profanity Territory pack and others made their home.

We're fighting to keep them from suffering the same fate as previous packs. Our latest petition pushes for new rules in the way the state manages its wolves.

What must end is the knee-jerk reaction of hopping into helicopters for target practice on wolves whenever a complaint arises. It's not only cruel to kill wolves, but ineffective. Science shows non-lethal measures of wolf management work better.

Washington's wolf policy is a preview of what may happen if protection is stripped away from wolves across the country, as the Trump administration plans.

Any day now the next wave of Trump’s wolf attacks will come, and we’ll be ready. We know what happens when wolf management gets turned over to the states.

Wolves get shot and poisoned, and packs disappear.

The pandemic is showing us our inter-connectedness to wildlife. Life on Earth wins when we protect keystone species like wolves. Without them whole ecosystems and the endangered animals that depend on them will collapse.
