In case you haven’t noticed, Spooky Season is also the new name for election season as everything has just gone absolutely batty in the last few weeks before the election. Don’t get caught in the tangled conservative web of anti-abortion misinformation and lies – stick with us and sit down with a hot cup of sarcasm and rage straight from our pro-abortion cauldron. It’ll be wicked good!

What in the Florida DeSantishenanigans is Going On
We don’t even know where to start, so we hope you can keep up. First, the DeSantis Department of Health threatens to prosecute TV stations if they play ads promoting the abortion rights amendment (btw – the ad featured a woman diagnosed with brain cancer who needed an abortion). Then a judge rightfully smacked that shit down and blocked them from taking any further actions against anyone broadcasting the ads. AND THEN a DOH attorney resigns in protest and points the finger at the DeSantis administration officials…who just double down on it and continue with more anti-abortion bullshit. 

WHAT. IS. HAPPENING. Florida, are you okay? BLINK TWICE IF YOU NEED HELP.

Sniff Butts, Not Abortion Pills
In a gross misuse of a perfectly boopable dog nose, a “tipster” working at a Mississippi post office reported seeing a package that they believed to be abortion pills, and that’s all it took for the Jackson postal inspector to get involved. For so many abortion seekers, ordering pills by mail is the only way for them to access abortion care, and this incident offers a stark reminder of how diligent we all need to be. It also reminds us of one more fact: SNITCHES GET STITCHES…metaphorically, of course. This story has so many scary implications that we are breaking it down on our current episode of the Feminist Buzzkills podcast!

Won’t Somebody Think of the Coal Mines and Button Factories?
When Missouri, Idaho, and Kansas filed a revised lawsuit seeking to reverse the regulatory changes the FDA made since 2016 that expanded access to mifepristone, they argued that the state has been harmed because “loss of fetal life and potential births” reduces the “potential population of each state.” THEY ARE MAD THAT WE AREN’T BIRTHING MORE WORKERS. There are a myriad of questionable legal justifications put forth by anti-abortion extremists, but this one has to be pretty damn near the top of the trash heap.
