We, the People are Responsible!
Be sure to vote!
Noah Webster once said<[link removed]>, “In selecting men for office, let principle be your guide. Regard not the particular sect or denomination of the candidate – look to his character. . . . When a citizen gives his suffrage [vote] to a man of known immorality he abuses his trust; he sacrifices not only his own interest, but that of his neighbor, he betrays the interest of his country."
George Barna recently conducted a poll in which he found that 49% of people of faith do not plan to vote in this election<[link removed]>. That alone is enough to turn the tide of public policy for future generations! While we fully recognize that Jesus is the only One Who saves, we, as Christians are called to be the salt and light (Matthew 5:13) in every area of our lives. "Let us not become weary in doing good" (Galatians 6:9) and fall into the trap of not voting because none of the candidates align completely with the values we hold dear. Instead, let us continue to be the faithful stewards of this great nation God has given us!
A few of the Biblical qualifications for leaders are that they be “able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness.” (Exodus 18:21)
