We've almost gotten used to the constant attempts in Texas to codify power for one political party and suppress any dissenting ideas and voters. But we have to stand up and draw the line against these cynical opponents of voting rights.

NYT: Texas Attorney General Sues to Stop Voter Registration Push in San Antonio [[link removed]]
Texas is truly the new capital of voter suppression, John.
Texas A.G. Ken Paxton has now sued Travis County ( Austin ) and Bexar County ( San Antonio ) over their plans to try and register unregistered voters. The suits seek to stop officials in both counties from mailing voter registration applications to non-registered residents of those counties.
Paxton claims he's not done, either, and has threatened Harris County ( Houston ) by letter as they consider similar measures to increase voter participation.
Of course, these lawsuits come on the heels of the Governor announcing that Texans has purged over 1 million voters the last few years. These purges disenfranchise legitimate registered voters and these lawsuits seek to stop new voters from getting registered. It's legalized voter suppression, right in our faces.
We have to fight voter suppression in Texas, John, and in other states where opponents of voting rights resort to these extreme measures. Chip in $25 or whatever you can today to defend voting rights across the country >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
