Hi John,

Derek Kilmer has cosponsored a bill to bail out lobbyists as part of coronavirus relief. This is atrocious. The American people need help, not corporate lobbyists. If you agree, can you donate $3 now, so I can win this race and fight for the people — not lobbyists — in Congress?

I will never forget that in the midst of a pandemic and the highest unemployment since the Great Depression, my opponent Derek Kilmer found it necessary to bail out lobbyists with the bill H.R.6697. This has been covered in The Intercept as well as other outlets.

With this bill, lobbyists for Kilmer’s many corporate donors would get bailed out. Corporate donors like:

  • The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), whose member companies manufactured the opioid epidemic currently devastating Kilmer’s constituents.

  • America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), which is lobbying to stop Medicare for All, a health plan that would save lives in WA-06 by allowing everyone to get healthcare when they need it — without premiums, copays, or deductibles.

  • The Federation of American Hospitals (FAH), a lobbying group that, according to Politico, is also working to thwart single-payer healthcare.

Corporate Kilmer must go. Can you give $3 now to get him out?

On that front, I have exciting news: today we filed with the state to be on the ballot — it’s official!

Thanks to supporters like you, this is the strongest challenge Kilmer has ever faced.

The ballot fee was $1,740, and while we had budgeted for it, it’s a lot of money. Especially with the new expenses of campaigning during a pandemic, like the increased phone banking we’re doing.

If you can, please donate $3 now to cover our expenses, so I can fight for the people in Congress:
