Our paramedics, firefighters, lifeguards, police officers, and 911 dispatchers provided immediate assistance to those who were hurt, reunited separated family members, and rescued those trapped in their homes, and we are so grateful for all their work.
Today is National First Responders Day, friend!
Early this year, we witnessed the bravery and compassion of our first responders when San Diego County faced the historic floods and the devastation that followed them.
Our paramedics, firefighters, lifeguards, police officers, and 911 dispatchers provided immediate assistance to those who were hurt, reunited separated family members, and rescued those trapped in their homes, and we are so grateful for all their work.
Oftentimes, their bravery and sacrifice go unnoticed.
When faced with life-threatening emergencies, public health crises, or extreme weather conditions like the floods we saw back in January, our first responders consistently risk their lives to keep us safe.
In our worst moments of fear, our first responders never hesitate to take action, serving and protecting our County.
Our first responders’ courage, care, and community-centered outlook keep our communities strong every day. As your Supervisor, I am committed to providing our first responders with the resources to continue this important work.
That’s why it’s vital we take pause, on days like this, to let them know just how much we appreciate them.
