Michigan is a linchpin in the Democrat’s pathway to victory next Tuesday.

In 2016, Trump beat then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in Michigan by just 0.3 percent - only 10,704 votes. In 2020, Biden only won Michigan by a margin of 2.8%. Suffice to say it will likely be extremely close again.

Polls currently show Kamala Harris and Donald Trumps being neck and neck in Michigan and if Democrats lose Michigan their pathway to victory becomes increasingly narrower and narrower…

This year Democrats will have to deal with the baggage of backing Israel in their genocide against Palestinians in Gaza over the last year - a cause for concern amongst Michigan’s 300,000 Muslim voters.

The Arab-American and broader Muslim community used to be a bastion of support for the Democratic party. Most of them won’t switch to voting Republicans but as shown by the growing prominence of Michigan's “Uncommitted movement” - they won’t be voting for Democrats.

We cannot afford to live in a new reality of losing Michigan every presidential election. It would spell doom for the hope of ever having a Democratic president again.

We can’t expect change to come from the Kamala Harris’s and Joe Biden's of the party. Change in the Democratic party will start from the bottom up. With 212 Democratic members of Congress we have a much better chance of influencing their Israel stance than we do 1 presidential nominee.
